Shawn Farrell
I have been the college pastor at FBC for the past 12 years. I have been married for 24 years and have 2 daughters, Zoe and Haley. I graduated from UCLA long, long ago with a bachelor’s degree in physiological science and more recently from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a master’s in divinity. I own CADE Medical, a medical distribution company that primarily supports orthopedic surgeons. My passion is to preach the Word of God and help college students know Jesus Christ. I love wake surfing, snow skiing, and volleyball.

Tracy Farrell
Hello, I am Tracy Farrell. I have the blessed opportunity to be the wife of Shawn, the college pastor, which gives me the opportunity to open up our home to be used for ministry. We have been doing student ministry since 2003 at FBC. What a roller coaster of fun thrills it has been. Super thankful to the Lord for the ability to do all that He has brought our way. We share our home with our two little girls, which are not so little anymore. They are 14 and 16 years old. We also regularly have college gals live with us for a season. I love being a wife and mom, my first priority. But I also went to college and got my baccalaureate degree in Nursing. Now, a stay at home mom, I dabble in event planning for both church and weddings. I’m always ready to see how God is going to grow and lead our family on new adventures.
Austin Alexander
Hi! My name is Austin. I met my wife Leslie when we were both students in the ministry back in 2016 and college ministry has had a special place in our hearts ever since. I've served in multiple ministries at FBC, but college sets itself apart because of the genuine desire that students have to hear the Word taught, to pursue friendships and discipleship, and to serve Christ. The Lord recently blessed us with a beautiful baby girl, Naomi. and I work as a physical therapist, so we can talk about injuries amongst other deeper topics such as theology, spiritual disciplines, and convictions.
Leslie Alexander
Hola, me llamo Leslie! I’m married to Austin and I’m the mother of our baby girl Naomi. Very excited to be serving in college ministry. I enjoy getting to know new students and seeing what God is doing in their lives. The Lord has given me a desire for discipleship and to grow relationships with young ladies who desire to pursue Christ. We love to have students over and firmly believe in feeding our guests.
AJ Woodsum
Blissfully married to Megan Woodsum. We have two daughters, Harper and Penelope, and a son, Owen. I am the Librarian for the Berean Library, and Megan and I host the Southside Bible study at our house. I have a passion for collegians to build a habit of reading and to grow in their understanding and love for the Lord. I am always down for talking about books and getting coffee. I work as a firefighter/paramedic for Los Angeles County Fire Department and enjoy rock climbing and wood working in my spare time, of which, I have none.
Megan Woodsum
Living the good life, being married to A.J. for the last 13 years, and blessed to be a stay-at-home mom to our kiddos, Harper, Penny, and Owen. Before becoming a mom, I worked as a court reporter and love all things grammar and punctuation. In my spare time, you can find me gardening, organizing something, or baking cookies. I love serving on college staff and helping our collegians grow in their knowledge and love for the Lord. Our door is always open, especially for breakfast and lattes.
Megan Barbour
This is my 12th year serving in the college ministry at FBC, and I can honestly say it does not get old (though I keep getting older!). I love this ministry because my heart is to spend time with younger ladies over tea (or coffee), to talk about Jesus and grow together in His likeness. During the day, I teach PE at Temecula Prep. And on the weekend, you can find me playing with my nieces and nephews or reading. My desire for myself and the ladies of our college ministry is that we would know Christ and love Him more than anything. I'd love to meet you at The Liquid Leaf, my treat!
James Thomas
Hi! My name is James Thomas. I’ve been attending FBC for pretty much my whole life. God used Grafted to grow my relationship with Him substantially, so I am super thankful to be able to help others as a senior staff member. I love discipling young men to pursue Christ with all their heart, and enjoy the process of men becoming biblical MEN who have surrendered their heart and mind to Christ. I work for an engineering firm (but am not an engineer) and love playing board games (erm, biblical fellowship).
Stephanie Lafleur
I met my husband Richard in college at The Master’s University and we’ve been happily married since 2015. This past year, we welcomed our daughter Braelyn into the world and can’t imagine life without her. Before becoming a mom, I worked as an Assistant Athletic Director for 8 years at Linfield Christian High School and now serve as the Social Media Coordinator for Athletics. I love all things sports and travel, but truly enjoy being a wife, homemaker, and a mom. I enjoy building relationships with the girls in college ministry and helping them grow in their pursuit of Christ and love for others. Even though we live in the very distant town of Temecula, our home is always open for food, watching a game, and good conversation.
Jason Bolt
Hey, what’s happening Grafted! My name is Jason and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of our young adult ministry at FBC. I’ve been married to my beautiful wife Lissy for 5 years in October, and the Lord has blessed us with two little dudes: Easton and Banks. I work as a performance manager for Sunrun Solar, and between my job, being a husband and a dad, and serving in ministry, I maybe get in a round of golf every other year. Really thankful to have a front-row seat in what the Lord is doing in the hearts and lives of our college students, as we encourage them to become more like Jesus Christ!
Lainey Lamb
Hey hey! My name is Lainey Lamb. I’ve been coming to FBC since 2017. The very first place I visited was College Ministry, and I haven’t left since. I started attending as a student, joined serving staff, became the college admin, and now I get to serve as a senior staffer. Most of my time is spent running Good Coffee Company. If I’m not working, you’ll find me making coffee somewhere. I love caring for the people around me, but my favorites are all our staff babies.
Jeff Fazakerley
Hi there! I’m Jeff Fazakerley, husband to the most incredible wife ever, Emily. We’ve been a part of college ministry since 2022 and have loved every minute of it. My heart’s passion for ministry is to intentionally speak into the lives of young men as they grow in their knowledge of and passion for our Lord Jesus Christ. I want to help you not make the many mistakes I made as a college student. I work from home for a university making educational media. In my free time I love to nerd out with a movie or board game and hang with my hilarious wife and super creative daughters.
Luke Sheyda
My name is Luke Sheyda (AKA CrazySolo) I've been married to my beautiful wife Vivi since 2020 and we have one little girl, Alanna. I work for Escondido fire and do some welding on the side. I love to go up into the mountains with ropes and ice axes in the middle of storms and have been known to run too far... I've been at FBC since 2015 and have served in numerous ministries. I can't wait to get to know you and grow alongside you. So let's go for a run or climb and figure out how to become more like Christ!

Hello there!
I've been on staff at Grafted for long enough to be one of the old timers around here. I love missions, Greek and theology. If you have an interesting biblical question, I'd love to talk it out and can probably point you to a book or two in the college library to read more about it.
When it comes to discipleship, I love going through the Puritans (especially John Owen and Richard Sibbes) or working through topics like the trinity, Sin and repentance or the Holy Spirit. This usually happens over a good cup of coffee or maybe a late night In and Out burger.
I also love a good game, whether board, video or a quick game of foosball.

Hello, My name is Richard LaFleur and I‘ve been apart of college ministry since 2022. I am married to my beautiful wife Stephanie and we have a one year old daughter named Braelyn. I graduated from The Master’s University in 2012 and now work as a Firefighter/Paramedic for Rancho Santa Fe Fire District. In ministry, I enjoy creating meaningful relationships with new and young believers and helping them grow in their knowledge and faith. In my limited spare time, you’ll find me hanging out with my family, golfing, or playing almost any other sport.
Vivi Sheyda
Hi! My name is Vivi, I am married to Luke aka Crazysolo. I currently have the pleasure of staying home with our beautiful little girl, Alanna, but every once in awhile I get to make some pretty floral arrangements. I’ve been attending FBC for 15yrs and have quite literally grown up in the student ministries here.
