Mystery Night 2018
The time has come... Mystery night 2018, and it is right around the corner! Our College Ministry has the privilege of hosting a station again this year. Friday the 23rd, we are all gonna meet up at Shawn house for a big hang out sesh and we need a few volunteers to play a role at our station. Sign ups will be this Friday night. You don't wanna miss out on this awesome opportunity to make this night a memorable one for the teens!
Several months ago a friend asked me a hypothetical question, “If you could sit down and have coffee with Christ and ask Him one question, what would it be?” And this was part of my response:
Scripture intake is critical in the life of a believer. It is daily food for the soul of those who belong to Jesus (Matthew 4:4), yet every believer struggles to be disciplined in their daily Scripture intake.
What follows is just a few things I have learned or observed through prayer in the years after that night. Maybe something will stick out and encourage you as you pursue a deeper prayer life.
Sometimes when you are focused on getting through the text, you can miss some of the deeper elements of the book. Here are a few of the exegetical tidbits that you might have glossed over.
In my first post on journaling I hesitated to write specific methods I employ in journaling because I do not want to give the impression that there is one “correct” way. There is no right way, and what works for one might not work for another.
Lust: a strong and passionate desire for something.
Jesus is Lord. Whether we bow to Him as such now, or not, Philippians 2:10 is clear that one day every knee will bow to Him and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.
As some of you may know the new Marvel movie is out and has a lot of people wondering whether they should go out and watch it.
Journaling allows me to interact with the Lord and Scripture in a very practical way. You could say it is one way I meditate on truth in the morning and throughout the rest of the day.
