Priorities

We're kicking of the Fall Semester by introducing our Priority series. The most important parts of your life. We all have them and the Bible teaches us how to keep them in order. Starting with Christ as first place in everything.

We were made to give praise to another. We are not a product of random chance. The truth, according to the word of God, is God himself made us, in His image, to worship Him.

God gave us our minds as a gift, and the mind is a terrible thing to waste. Luke 6:45 - What comes out of you is a direct reflection of what is inside of you. Here we are looking at the battle to make Christ first in your life and it begins in your mind. It is where it is won and lost.

This week we walk through the keys to healthy relationships that reflects and glorifies Christ.

Technology makes life easier for all of us in this day and age. But, as in many things, we take it and corrupt the gift that it is. We idolize it, put it above God, and worship it. The things we create in this fallen world have a tendency to draw our hearts away from God and cause us to depend on them more then our creator.

Do you spend your time wisely or do you find yourself wasting it? In this message, we talk about the biblical perspective on how we can spend our time honoring the Lord.

The ability to communicate is a gift from God. We are the only beings that can communicate on an intellectual level. We are steeling Gods glory by using speech how ever we please.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Luke 6:45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.

Does your money or you possessions control you? Have you considered your money? Have you given to the church? Saved? Budgeted? Is Jesus Christ first in the way you make and spend your money?

It can be tough topic to discuss but it is so important to recognize that the money you get is not your own. It is Gods and you are called to be a good steward of it.

Remember that we can’t do anything without the spirit inside of us. It doesn’t all happen automatically. It is an active process and a grueling fight. A daily battle we are to take one day at a time to mortify flesh and become more like Christ.
